Is Bodega One Code really free?+
Right now, yes, completely. We're in open beta, and the beta is free for everyone, commercial use included. You get the full product: Monaco IDE, AI chat, autonomous coding agent, all 26 built-in tools, BYOLLM with 10+ providers, full memory system, QEL verification, and air-gap mode. At full release, Personal stays free for personal use (1 machine) and a paid Pro tier unlocks commercial use.
Can I use it now, and can I use it for work?+
Yes to both. Download the beta today, no waitlist and no password. While we're in beta it's free for any use, including commercial. It's a beta, so expect a few rough edges and tell us when you hit them. The paid Pro tier (commercial license, 2 machines) goes on sale at full release.
What is the difference between Personal and Pro?+
Personal is the full product, free, for personal use on 1 machine. Every feature is included: the IDE, AI chat, autonomous agent, all 26 tools, BYOLLM, Cloud Boost, custom agents, agent scheduling, QEL, and air-gap mode. Pro ($39 one-time, at full release) adds exactly three things: commercial use rights, unlimited workspaces, and a second machine. That's the whole difference. Pro is not on sale during the beta; everyone gets full access free right now.
Is Bodega One Code ever a subscription?+
No, never. The beta is free. At full release Personal stays free and Pro is a one-time $39 purchase, owned forever. No monthly fees, no auto-renewal, no seat licenses, no price hikes. If you bring your own cloud LLM API keys, you pay those providers directly. We never charge markup or take a cut.
What is a workspace?+
A workspace is your project folder. It holds your code, conversations, memory, and agent setup all in one place. The free Personal tier includes 1 workspace. Pro includes unlimited workspaces.
What platforms does Bodega One Code run on?+
Windows, macOS, and Linux. The beta runs on all three today. At full release Personal covers 1 machine and Pro covers 2, and you can mix platforms, for example one Windows desktop and one Mac laptop.
When can I buy Pro?+
Pro goes on sale at full release. You can't buy it during the beta, and you don't need to: the beta is free for everyone, commercial use included. When Pro launches it will be $39 one-time for commercial use, unlimited workspaces, and 2 machine activations. No subscription.
Does Bodega One Code include an LLM or AI model?+
No. Bodega One Code is bring-your-own-LLM. Use Ollama for local privacy, or bring your own API keys for Claude, GPT, Groq, or others. You pay providers directly. We don't charge markup or monitor usage.
Why does the free beta still need an activation?+
Activation is how we tie your install to your email so you get updates and license recovery if you lose your machine. It is not telemetry. No usage data is collected. The app runs fully offline after activation.
Do you offer student or nonprofit discounts?+
The beta is already free for everyone, students and nonprofits included. When Pro goes on sale at full release, get in touch if you need it for a school or nonprofit project.
When does Enterprise launch?+
